Goodbye 2008

Monday, December 22: As the holidays have started, work has become dead so we are now leaving around 5pm so that we don't kill ourselves out of boredom. I came home to find my wifey waiting for me (she came with her brother) and we went to eat dinner at Gloria's Cafe. This time I got the taquito plate. Unfortunately, they were not the crispitos of AHS. What were those crispitos?! We went for a walk afterwards since we were stuffed and I finally went to Famima!! It was quite nice ^^ Then we walked back to the apartment and watched The Red Violin. Good movie~

Tuesday, December 23: Finally watched a couple of movies I had on my laptop! Yay! I watched Tony Hawk's Secret Skatepark Tour 2 and Dragon Hunters. Good times~ (I did write a little more on this at Kimchi Gratitudes)

Wednesday, December 24: Christmas Eve! Not only did I get to leave work early (noon), but I didn't have to clock out until a couple hours later! Yay. Thanks boss boss! *^^* At home I ran some errands with my mum before watching Yobi, the Five Tailed Fox (a Korean animated film) and some TV. What a way to bring in Christmas.

Thursday, December 25: Merry Christmas! Or Happy Christmas! *^^* I slept in, which was really nice. Oh how I love sleep. I then watched Wanted along with the special features. Whoo, James McAvoy is so hot~ I really liked the movie :D I also finally watched Assault on Precinct 13, which wasn't so great. But it wasn't bad either. And did I mention my mum made really yummy baby back ribs for dinner? ^^

Friday, December 26: Went to the mall. Wow. There were so many people! Especially as we were leaving. Craziness. Tried to do some last-minute Christmas shopping. Not so successful. Oh well. Took a nice nap at home, and then I finally watched 3:10 to Yuma, which has been on my laptop forever, so that was yay. I heart Christian Bale!

Saturday, December 27: Nancy came over to play! Yay! And Joycie did too (thanks again for Iron Man!). We went to lunch at Dumpling House, good times. We then got drinks at Genki Living. I seriously need to go back to that place--their crepes looked really good! After Crystal popped by to say hi, we went to the mall with Adalon (minus Joyce, who had to go back to her apartment). Again, lots of people. Then I had to bid adeiu to both of them. Oh Nancy, I miss you! Later that night was the AHS Christmas potluck, which you can read about at Foodie Love.

Sunday, December 28: Good times at church, followed by yummy lunch at Kabuki with everyone. We had Williana, her two cousins from Korea, Jinwon, Paul, Diana, and Grace! Paul and Jinwon came over to my house afterwards to hang out and catch up, which was really nice. We also watched The Dark Knight, which was Jinwon's Christmas present to me. Oh how I love that movie~ Then I went back to the apartment and watched Music and Lyrics with Christina, Alice, and Alice's sister, who was sleeping over. That was such a cute movie! And I love the songs! "PoP! Goes My Heart" is aweeesome *squeee*

This week has been even more dead than last week. It took me under 15 minutes to get to work yesterday! Amazing. Lately I've been rediscovering my love of YouTube, where I can watch the hotness of my hubbies, such as Jensen Ackles and James Franco. And Matthew Goode. Goode times ;) (Was that lame?) Yesterday I finally watched Who Are You?, a 2002 Korean movie that I've had on my laptop for ages. The apartment and these non-new-TV times are good at making me catch up on old movies. Yay! So I'm both excited that TV shows are returning next week, and also dreading it because that means I won't be able to catch up on media on my hard drives anymore.

Anyway, it is now New Year's Eve, signalling the end of 2008. I will not miss 2008. It was full of unemployment woes, pain, depression, hysteria, and just overall bad times. 2009 is the year of the ox. It is my year. And it better kick 2008's arse.

December 31, 2007, I went on a LOTR tour and did my 134m bungee jump. I ushered in the new year with alcohol in my tummy and fireworks at the Queenstown pier. Somehow I feel that tonight will not be able to compare..

Catching Up

Wow. I haven't blogged in a while! So much to catch up on..

So I lied. I didn't go to the gym on Friday (12/5). I went home and took a nap. Which was really nice~ But I went on Monday (12/8)! Did the elliptical for 35 minutes, killing myself to achieve 385 calories and 3.32 miles. Then I didn't go again until Thursday (12/11). Finally dragged my sorry ass to the gym and went on the ellipticals for 15 minutes to burn 166 calories and do 1.42 miles. Then went upstairs for resistance training, but everything was full. I did the leg curl machines, walked around like an idiot, and then I gave up and went home. Meh. And guess what? I haven't gone since. No wonder my fat has been piling on TT_TT

Yay for movies! I have been trying my best to go through my Netflix movies recently. So on Saturday (12/6), I finally watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Good times. Ni! The next Saturday (12/13), I watched Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. That is a good Batman movie. I really liked it. Last Tuesday (12/16), I watched The Kite Runner with Alice (one of the flatmates) after work. It was a sad, but good, movie. I recommend it. Then on Saturday (12/20), I finally watched The Assassination of Jesse James by Coward Robert Ford. Boy, that's a mouthful! I think it was a really well-made and good movie, but it should not be allowed to call itself a western. Because it was not a western. But it was a good (albeit unnecessary long) movie. And I love me my Brad~ I also watched Peter Pan again to see if I liked it enough to add to my wishlist. And you know what, I do. I think Jeremy Sumpter did well as Peter Pan~

On Saturday (12/6) my mum was finally successful in dragging me to Nordstrom Rack. What did we get to show for her efforts? A pajama top. Well, it was a necessary purchase since my old one was really ragged. Then we went to DSW, where I got really depressed over my fat calves, before we went to Macy's and finally found boots I could fit into. Although I have yet to wear them since they don't work with my jeans. The next day when I came home from church I found out that my mum had bought me a vest from Nordstrom. I will have to pay her back for the other clothes, but this I'm saying is her Christmas gift.

I have caught up a LOT on TV in the past couple of weeks. Seriously. A lot. I am so proud of myself! Moving out has its perks. That and the fact that a lot of TV shows have gone to hiatus. So my laptop is a lot happier. And then last night I finally made the decision that I will not be watching Worlds Within/The World We Live In. No one seems to really like that drama, including Dramabeans, and I'm not the biggest fan of Hyun Bin. And then with Nancy saying there's some weird eye disease that Hyun Bin has that caused him to start bleeding out of his eyes.. NO THANK YOU. And deleting the 12 episodes I had downloaded so far of that drama opened up over 8GB on my laptop! YAY :D

-- Sunday (12/7): Jinwon also came over and we hung out over In-N-Out. Yummy. And the series premiere of Leverage was tonight! I saw the pre-air of the pilot over the summer and had been waiting for it ever since~
-- Friday (12/12): I moved cubicles at work! Our department moved to another area on the floor. That was.. fun. And then my boss boss let me go home early! ^^
-- Saturday (12/13): The last day of PS class! Yay! :D
-- Sunday (12/14): Finally moved into Christina's apartment! YAY! Thanks Christina, Judy, and Alice! ♥
-- Monday (12/15): Unpacked from the move at work and organised all my stuff. And my boss boss was kind enough to treat me to lunch because, silly me, I forgot to bring mine! And that was his last day at work for 2008~
-- Wednesday (12/17): Nancy flew in from NY! Because the 15 closed down and her parents couldn't come pick her up, Joyce went and picked her up. And then we all had dinner together at Gyenari. Good times *^^*
-- Friday (12/19): Just wanted to point out that it took an hour and 50 minutes to get home. My goodness I hate traffic. And I'm so glad I am crashing at Christina's place. The commute takes under 30 minutes and is so kind to my gas tank. YAY :D
-- Sunday (12/21): Paul is back in LA! Saw him at church and that was nice ^^ And then I had lunch with Grace Yang, good times~ Met up with Christina and got her apartment keys copies, so now I can get into the apartment whenever I want! Yay!

I tried to make this post as short as possible, but I have a tendency to talk too much so my apologies. I will try to blog more often so this doesn't happen. I just also wanted to point out that I now have another blog (I know, ANOTHER one?!). Remember how I mentioned in my last post that a pastor at my church suggested some exercises for me? To help with my depression? Well, one of them is to write down five things that I'm grateful for every day. And since I'm better with doing things online, and I love blogging, I decided to make a blog for it. The blog is called Kimchi Gratitudes and you can read more about it here. Please come on over and support that one as well~ (Although I have to warn you, it's pretty boring. And repetitive. Hahahahaha.)

I feel so out of it right now. It has been a slow (and yet fast) week. So glad it's Friday. I really need to crash. (And yet I can't because I have PS class tomorrow again. Ugh. TT_TT)

Monday, December 1: Wow, this seems like an eternity ago. Getting home was such a pain thanks to traffic on Beverly. I got home around 7:40pm. Went to the gym, very reluctantly. Went on the elliptical, where my left ankle and lower leg started to hurt again after about 7 minutes. Sigh. But I persisted. In 35 minutes, burned 388 calories (again! wow!) and did 3.34 miles. Wow. Progress. Painful progress. Then I went home, showered, and helped my mum with her computer issues. Sigh. But I was productive since I started my daily Bible writing! I have decided that I will write a chapter of the Bible a day (or at least half a chapter, depending on how long it is). And an associate pastor at my church suggested some different exercises for me to do to try to get me out of my neverending depression. We'll see how that goes.

Tuesday, December 2: Another reluctant trip to the gym after work. Went on the elliptical for 12 minutes (10 + 2 cooldown), which resulted in 136 calories burned and 1.16 miles. Then I went upstairs for resistance training and oh my goodness, there were so many people! I was doing lunges with weights when all of a sudden my left knee started killing me. I tried to go on but the pain was too bad. So I gave up. I went to go do the leg curls but then that also turned out to be too much for my knee. So I wasted time sitting around waiting for various machines, did a little, and then left after about 10 minutes. Pathetic.

Wednesday, December 3: Since there was no Bones on, I should have taken this opportunity to go to the gym. But I didn't want to. Besides, my left leg hates me so I need to give it some time to forget its hate. So I watched TV on my laptop, which was something I desperately needed to do because I had about 1GB free on my hard drive. Later that night I ended up moving some of my kdrama episodes to my external, which helped a little. But I am seriously running out of space. My desktop and two other external hard drives are chock full. Seriously. And now my laptop has 7-something GB free and my third external hard drive has 4GB free. GAH. The whole thing gives me such a headache.

Thursday, December 4: After work, went to dinner with Christina! I timed the drive to her apartment and it takes about 30 minutes. Perfect! We went to dinner at Gloria's Cafe, which I reviewed on Yelp, and we both loved it. Then I went to her apartment to hang out. They have a really nice apartment! I am excited to be moving in with them soon ^^ We did a video chat via Gmail with Tasha, which was really cool. And then we watched Grey's Anatomy together before I headed back home.

I will have to go to the gym tonight for sure to burn off all the food. The gym. Ugh. I seriously don't want to go. I don't want to do anything really. I have no energy. GAH I feel so brain dead. Actually, it hurts. My brain hurts. Sigh.

This holiday season, there are many things that I am grateful for. I am grateful for family. I am grateful for church. I am grateful for friends. And I am grateful for my lovely actor husbands. My sexy, oh so sizzlin' hot, make me squeal with every fiber of my being, too cute, wonderfully talented actor hubbies. ♥

Wednesday, November 26: People at work are so kind ^^ I got treated to the Thanksgiving lunch in the café, which meant I got turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, gravy, yams, and pumpkin pie. Yum ^^ And my boss boss let me leave work at 1:40pm! YAY! Since I got home early, I decided to make productive use of my time and go to the gym. Oh my goodness. I don't go for a couple of days and I become completely weaksauce! It was so difficult. Time moved slower, much slower, and I felt real pain. Which worried me because my left ankle/lower leg started to really hurt, and that area had hurt when I was speedwalking in my boots on Tuesday. And then my right leg started to hurt. And I was just so upset that I had become so weaksauce and was having so much difficulty. So in the end I just clenched my teeth, closed my eyes, and went for it. So in 35 minutes, I burned 388 calories and did 3.33 miles. Whew. After I went home and showered, I watched Hancock. I don't know if it's because I went in with low expectations due to infavourable reviews, but it wasn't bad! I mean, it has its flaws, for sure, but it wasn't a bad movie.

Thursday, November 27: HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! After running some errands, it was time to cook. Tasha came over a bit after I started cooking and helped out a bit. I ended up making my broccoli cheese casserole, mashed pototoes a la Betty Crocker, and Hungry Girl's I Can't Believe It's Not Sweet Potato Pie. My mum had bought ham from Honeybaked, so we had that as well, along with pumpkin pie that Tasha had bought for us! It was a very yum and filling dinner *^^* And then we had our Ryan Reynolds night! We watched Chaos Theory, in which I love Ryan and hate Emily Mortimer, and then we watched Definitely, Maybe. That is such a cute movie! And we both loved the D.P. for having so many wonderful shots of Ryan! Seriously love that movie *anime hearts coming out of eyes*

Friday, November 28: Instead of getting trampled at the stores (did you hear about the 3 deaths?), Tasha and I were smart and went to AMC. The first movie we watched was Australia. Oh my goodness. Hugh Jackman is so unbelievably hot in that movie! I really liked the film and I think that Baz Luhrmann did a good job. The only disappointing part is that there were no serenades by Hugh or Nicole Kidman. Although Nicole did have a small singing part in there, hahahaha. Man, I want to go watch this movie again. Hugh was seriously so droolworthy. Next we watched Role Models, which was absolutely hilarious. I am a huge Paul Rudd fan, and I really liked him in here with Seann William Scott. And the kids were good too! Very enjoyable. Last but not least, we watched Quantum of Solace. I don't understand why so many critics hated it. I blame it on the fact that they probably didn't watch Casino Royale recently, because I think that makes a big difference. And yes, some of the really fast paced action sequences and the editing reminds you of the Bourne movies, but I still think it was a really good Bond film. My only complaint was that it was too short (shortest Bond film ever!) and that Daniel Craig was not shirtless enough.

Afterwards we had dinner in the food court, followed by dessert at Valerie's Crepes. We shared their title crepe, and it was really yummy! Then we came back home and watched Definitely, Maybe with commentary (by Ryan!). And then it was time for PSYCH! I normally don't watch Psych, even though I am a huge fan, because I'm just weird like that, but it was their holiday special and I just had to be fangirly over it with Tasha. I love Shawn. And his Snoopy dance. And his high pitched girly scream. Ahhhh, good times ;)

Saturday, November 29: After continually waking up and going back to sleep, I finally got up a bit past noon (Tasha and I had stayed up until past 2:30am for the past two nights!). Tasha left around 2pm, and then I went with my mum to go run errands. For dinner I went over to Daniel and Judy's, as I haven't seen them in months! I was seriously feeling the withdrawal. It was so nice to see them! And play with Annabel. She is so cute!!! *^^* Heard some good news from Judy, and then on the way home I talked to Joycie and found out that Jamie also had good news of her own! Congrats everyone!

Sunday, November 30: After church, I went to lunch with Diana, Williana, and her friend Stacy at T.O.T. in Little Tokyo. On the way home, Jamie called and I got to gush over her good news. Congrats again! ^^ Then I crashed when I got home because I was so tired from the past several days. Only to be awakened less than an hour later by my mum who wanted to go to Ikea. I love Ikea, so there was no way I was saying no. And it was worth it. I love the food at Ikea. So yum. Yum yum yum.

So the past several days have been very enjoyable. Very good times. Yay! *^^* And now I'm back at work. Hopefully later this week I'll have more to say about that. Although I will be going to the gym tonight, so you might never hear from me again. I dread it. If last Wednesday was painful, what will tonight be like? *shudder*
