Winter X Games 2012

So I considered actually watching it this year, but then I decided, why bother? I can just wait until it's over and watch the recap video. Sigh... my laziness really knows no bounds.

{Recap Video}

If you would like to READ the recap, here it is. And full results are here. I would also like to say RIP to Sarah Burke, who passed away on the 19th. It's really sweet to see how much everyone was honouring her memory at the X Games.

Here's the list of Top Moments. I must say CONGRATS to Shaun White, my fav, for getting the FIRST EVER PERFECT SCORE (and first ever Snowboard SuperPipe five-peat)!!! (I had to give a shout out to Shaun, because he is just so awesome sauce, but you should definitely check out the other videos as well. These athletes are just amazing.)

Good Times

How do people come up with titles for their blog posts? It's always so hard for me :(

Anyway, back to mid-January. On Wed (1/18) I went to Christina's to get my bridesmaid dress and work out. Afterwards we rewarded ourselves with Half and Half where we hung out with Joey and Vanessa. It was my first time going there; it's so delicious! I got the Iced Milk Drink with Caramel, Pudding, and Honey Boba and we all shared their sweet potato fries with garlic and seaweed. Yum! And on Thursday I met up with Christina again to go to a Yelp Elite event in Los Feliz. (If my review on Yelp isn't enough for you, there's also a recap on the Yelp community blog.) And then since we were still hungry afterwards we went to Figaro Bistrot for a late night snack. James Franco said it was one of his favourite places in LA... but that was back in 2008 so we didn't see him there that night :P Then where did Christina and I go on Friday? THE EXACT SAME PLACE. Hahaha what are the odds! We went there with Elaine, Abby, and Ron for a performance of For the Record: Baz Luhrmann. It was SO SO SO GOOD. I am absolutely in love!!! I will definitely be coming back to see that show again.

I spent Saturday at home, but then last Sunday I headed down to Irvine with Christina, Abby, and Lois to check out Christina's wedding venue. It's really nice! I am so excited for them :) Then afterwards we went to 85C Bakery for drinks and cake. I got their Iced Caramel Milk Tea and we shared three different desserts. I love that place! And we hit up Loehmann's at South Coast Plaza before heading back home. On Tuesday I worked out with weights for the first time--it really makes a big difference! On Wednesday I had lunch with Suzanne on the lot which was nice. And I was really tired for some reason so I actually went to bed at 8:30PM. I am such an old fogey! But then on Thursday I headed back out to have dinner with Judy at Hamburger Hamlet. It was my first time there and I really like it. And on Friday I went to The Sunset Restaurant along with Abby, Christina, and Ron to celebrate Elaine's birthday! The food and service were not good, but the company definitely was. Happy Birthday Elainer! ♥

Yesterday was our board retreat for WOW (women's business resource group at **). Quite productive! And then I headed down to Irvine to spend some quality time with Tasha. We checked out her residential Snow Block Party with her friend Sara before spending the rest of the night watching TV at her apartment. I left this morning to drive back up for church. My mum and I got lunch at Nordstrom Cafe and unfortunately it was quite disappointing. Then I took a nice nap and now it's time for some TV!

Happy MLK Day

Man, I love getting a day off of work. But before I get into today, let me back up to last week.

Last Monday, after work, I watched Recipe for a Perfect Christmas on Hulu since Bobby Canavale is in it. Turns out I had actually seen it before, but my memory is so bad that I didn't remember most of it. On Wednesday I met up with Alex for lunch just to catch up which was nice. And on Friday Gardy came over after work so that we could catch up. Even though we talk online almost every single day we still have so much to say to each other ;)

On Saturday was errands with mum and then yesterday was church. Afterwards I met up with Jinwon at the mall so we could watch Beauty and the Beast 3D. The cool part was that they started off with a Tangled short, which Suzan worked on, and it was great to see her name in the credits. The bad part is that I either forgot or did not realise before how completely annoying Belle is and also how many plot holes are in the movie -_- And the 3D wasn't put to much use in this movie... I still regret not seeing The Lion King in 3D when it was out. We went to Maria's Italian Kitchen for dinner afterwards and shared calamari, BBQ chicken salad, and their pumpkin ravioli. But the night didn't end there! Then we went to Phoenix Bakery for dessert and finally ended the night chatting in the mall parking garage until past midnight. Good thing I don't have work today! :P

Chef Special: Pumpkin Ravioli
{Looked better than it tasted...}

Today I slept in and then tried to be productive by organising my room and documents. Christina came over tonight to do the DVD workout and have dinner. I am not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow...

One Week

It has been a week into 2012! I spent most of the week catching up on TV. And going back to work on Tuesday. Wednesday I finished reading The Shack. But then Thursday I got to hang out with old friends in Little Tokyo. We had a mini EAP reunion with Ariana and her hubby Imad, Emily, Mandy, and Miloni. Started off with dinner at Spitz and finished with dessert at The Pie Hole. Delicious times! Then on Friday I moved at work to my new building. Hopefully things will be good there.

Yesterday I ran errands with my mum and then went to Christina's house to try on the bridesmaids' dress. Then we tried out Jillian Michaels' workout DVD, whewt! What a workout. In the late afternoon I met up with Dena and we walked down memory lane at Beantown. Then we met up with Joyce for dinner at Lemonade. It was when I got home that I found out about my aunt; my mum had found out earlier but she didn't want to ruin my time with my friends with the news.

{At Lemonade}

Today I went to church and shared fries with everything from Carnitas with Krystal. Napped when I got home and will now be spending the rest of the night watching TV. Hope your week is going well~

My Beloved Aunt

My aunt passed away today.

If anyone was like a second mother to me, it was her. I'm not sure how I feel... part of me feels like I mourned her when I went to Korea last month, so I'm not as grieved as I thought I would be. I'm currently feeling more relief than anything knowing that her suffering is finally over. I love you 이모~

Happy New Year!

How is it 2012 already? Just wanted to drop by and say a quick hello~ I hope everyone's year is off to a great start!

I got to spend my new years with some of my favourite people--Keri and Gardy came over and spent NYE with me; I went to church today and it was a great service; and then I had dinner with Daniel, Judy, and the kids. And Judy shared the good news that there's another one on the way! Congrats Judy ♥
